Chinese Cultural Awareness

We were delighted to welcome Isabel from the Confucius Chinese Cultural Awareness Institute, who visited school on Monday morning to work with YR, Y1 and Y2. As part of the Chinese New Year celebrations Isabel, who is from China and living in Ormskirk for this year, told the children all about the Year of the Monkey and about Chinese culture. She helped the children to make Chinese lanterns and monkey masks - as you can see - a good time was had by all! Isabel was thrilled with the enthusiasm and keen interest shown by the children and commented on excellent behaviour and attitude of all.

Happy New Year are Gong Xi Fa Cai (Mandarin) and Gong Hey Fat Choy (Cantonese).
