Melling Primary School

Year 4

Welcome to Year 4!

Over the past two weeks, we have had a teacher from our link school in Spain with us in Melling Primary.  Year 4 have been especially lucky, as we had her in our class for two whole days!  As well as showing us videos of her school and town, she taught us 'Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes' in Spanish (see the Spanish page for a video of the whole school singing it) and played some games with us using the vocabulary we have already learnt.  See below for the videos.

Please encourage your children to go on the timetable games on Interactive Resources to practise their individual timetable targets.  Let's crack those 8s, 9s and 7s!

Thank you to parents and children for making sure homework comes in on time.  To remind you, homework goes out on a Friday, and must be in by the following Friday.  Don't forget though, if you bring your homework in on Monday, you get a team point!

Our spelling test is on Thursday each week and your score from the last week will be on your test.  If you get full marks, you will get a gold star and with just one or two wrong, you will get a team point.  Come on everyone, lets get those star cards filled!

Our visit to Liverpool Synagogue June 2015

Be Active challenges - We all felt very puffed out after this, especially after swimming in the morning!

Check out this term's newsletter to find out what's going on in Y4 this term.

We had a great time looking at Ancient Egyptian artefacts at the World Museum on Thursday. The Meet the Mummy was definitely a firm favourite with everyone!

Feeling silly! Year 4 had a great time during the Harvest Silly Day as you can see!

Tennis Coaching at David Lloyd 18th October

Last week Year 4 went to David Lloyd for our very own coaching session with some tennis coaches!  We had a fantastic time and everyone made a great effort to get involved and improve their tennis skills.  The adults were all very impressed with the teamwork from the children.

Well done everyone!  A huge thank you also to Honey's Mum for organising this fantastic opportunity for us.
