Reception

Hello YR

I hope you are staying safe and being the best that you can be. I am so proud of how hard you have all been working and it has been lovely to see so many of you back at school. I miss us all being together as a class but it won't be long until you are all back together in Y1. I have attached your home learning for this week and have also put LOTS of activities on education city and purple mash. These will keep you busy until you come back to school in September. For your writing this week it would be lovely if you could write a letter to your new teacher (Miss Roberts) telling her all about you, who you friends are, who is in your family, what you like to do etc. You can either send this into school or keep it until you come back. Also, please make a postcard of somewhere nice you have been during lock down. Keep practising your handwriting and enjoy some time outdoors. Thank you YR for being so amazing.

Lots of love

Mrs Hargreaves and all of your YR teachers. xxx

Hi YR

I can't believe we are in week 14 of lock down already! I have been missing you all so much but I know you will have been having lots of fun at home with your families. I am looking forward to seeing some of you back in school on Monday. I just wish we could all have a big hug...but that will have to wait I'm afraid. For those of you not coming back just yet we are hoping (technology allowing) to do a zoom type call so we can all have a catch up or for your teachers to make a video that you can watch. For those of you coming in it will look a little bit different. You will all have your own special place to sit and we have lots of fun activities planned. We can't wait to see how good you all are with your phonics and maths. There will also be time spent outdoors and some toys to play with as usual. Keep smiling and being the best you can be. Lots and lots of love, Mrs Hargreaves. xx

Hi YR

Hope you are all staying safe and working hard. I have put the home learning for this week below and daily maths activities linked to the story 'The Princess and the Wizard'. Please keep practising your phonics sounds and numbers 1-20 and ask your grown ups to read you stories every day. I can't wait to see those of you who are coming back to school next week. I have missed you all lots. I will keep putting home learning activities on the website every week for those of you staying at home so we are all doing the same activities. Hopefully we will all be back together very soon. I am so proud of how hard you have all been working. Keep being the best you can be and look after your families. Keep smilingsmiley

Lots of love

Mrs Hargreaves xxx

'Coming back to school in a bubble' book for returning back to school :D

Hi YR,

We hope you are all keeping safe and looking after yourselves and your lovely families. Keep working hard, especially with your phonics, reading, maths and writing. We can't believe how long it has been since we were all in YR together. We are missing you lots. Make sure you have been spending some time outside in the lovely weather and see if you can learn some new things e.g baking, gardening etc that you can tell us all about when we return to school. Mrs Hargreaves has been working hard in school, but has also been enjoying walks on Ainsdale beach and doing lots of gardening and reading. Miss Scott has enjoyed making YR a new fairy house to play with and has enjoyed painting pebbles for all her friends in school. Miss Bresnahan has been having lots of fun at home with Esme and Eden, making dens, playing outside and helping them with their home learning. Mrs Freeman has been busy looking after her family and was spotted at Dobbies garden centre buying lots of plants and flowers for her garden. We cannot wait to hear what you have all been up to and the fun you have had. We hope you are enjoying the home learning topics that we have been putting on the website. Week 9 home learning is all about sport so make some time this week to dance, run, skip, play football, do gymnastics and see if you can do Joe Wicks PE every day! Good Luck. Have a great week YR and remember to keep being the best that you can be!

Lots of love Mrs hargreaves, Miss Scott, Miss Bresnahan and Mrs Freeman. xxxx

Hi YR,

We hope you are all well and looking after your families. We are missing you lots and can't wait to be back in school with you all soon. We hope you are having fun doing all the projects that have been set and that you are working hard with your reading, phonics, maths and handwriting. You can now access another website called Active Learn. This has reading books, phonics and maths activites on. We have put your login details below. The weather is coming nice again this week so make sure you go outside and enjoy the sunshine. Maybe you could make some potions, look for bugs or make dens etc. We can't wait to hear all about what you have been doing. Keep being the best that you can be. Lots of love Mrs Hargreaves, Miss Scott, Miss Bresnahan, Mrs Freeman and Miss Bailie. xxsmiley

Hi YR and families,

We hope you all had a fabulous Easter and got a visit off the Easter Bunny! We are missing you lots but will hopefully be back at school in the next few weeks. Please keep working hard, especially with your reading, phonics, maths and handwriting. We have added some more activities to keep you busy (Week 5 activities). Make sure you also spend some time having fun with your families. The weather has been lovely so make sure you spend some time outdoors if you can. Stay safe and remember to keep being the best that you can be!

Lots of love and big hugs

Mrs Hargreaves, Miss Scott, Miss Bresnahan, Mrs Freeman and Miss Bailie. xxx

For some great fun and educational play based activities go to www.abcdoes.com/homelearning  There are over 50 activities for you to do at home. This is one of my favourite early years websites and Alistair Bryce-clegg has been a huge inspiration for the activities I do in class. I know you and your children will love them. Have fun!! 👍😀❤️

Dear YR Parents

I have created log ins for all the children in YR on Numbots. This has lots of fun maths activities similar to what we do in YR (eg. whole and part numbers, subitising etc). Please find the login for your child from the list below and have a go at some of the maths activities. The login also gives you access to Times Table Rock Stars. This is what our older children in school do but I know some of the children in YR are getting good at their times tables so maybe you could have a go on this too. Have fun. Happy counting! Mrs H. x

Hi YR,

I am missing you all lots. I hope you have all been working hard. Keep reading and practising your phonics, maths and handwriting every day. I hope you have had fun doing the weekly projects. I have put this weeks home learning on and also some extra activities and practical ideas to keep you busy. Instead of doing PE you could do Joe Wicks PE every day on YouTube or some cosmic kids yoga. Make sure you also have fun with your families. You could bake some cakes to cheer people up, play some board games (good for maths) or spend some time outdoors. Whatever you choose to do ... stay safe and look after your family. I hope to see you all very very soon. Lots of love and big hugs. Mrs Hargreaves. smileyheartyes x

**Parents, please note that we are unable to offer printing or additional learning packs as there are not enough staff in school to be able to do so.  Thank you for understanding.**

Lots more ideas and activities to keep you busy YR. Enjoy! x
