Bi-centenary of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal

Dawn Beaumont, chair of the Melling Parish Council, led an assembly today to inform the children of the celebrations planned for the bi-centenary of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. A fun day is planned for Sunday June 19th to hopefully include: family barbecue; performances by our school choir and Sparkle and Shine dance troup;  games led by the local scout group; the opportunity to dress up in period costume and-the highlight-to watch the flotilla of boats sail by in Melling.
