First Day of Year 1

Welcome back to the Autumn term!

We are so happy to see all their lovely little faces again.

They have settled in really well to the new Year 1 routines and we know as the days and weeks go on it will all become second nature to them.

Over the next few days/ weeks you will notice more items being loaded on here for you to read through. Please make sure you keep up to date with the class page for any changes and updates.

You will notive your child will be starting to come home with their new reading books, we will start to reassess their reading level next week once we have all settled in.

Please read the Autumn newsletter for all other updates in regards to PE days/ homework/ phonics etc...

AUTUMN TERM 2

We will be starting our new History topic on 'How Am I Making History', if you are able to send in 2 photos of your child, one from when they were first born/ special occasion (Christening day, 1st birthday etc)/ first day of school, as well as a recent photo, by this Wednesday that would be great. If you are unable to, we will use photos taken in school, that is not a problem. laugh

The pictures will be stuck down, so please do not send anything you do not want to get glue on.

The following week we will be looking at keepsake boxes, linking to special memories (letter coming home 5.11.24). Please save a small box that your child can decorate and bring to school by 13th November. The pictures they use this week will be added to a timeline and put in their boxes.

Many thanks

AUTUMN TERM 1

WHAT WE HAVE BEEN UP TOO....

And that's a wrap for our first term in Year 1!! yes

The children have been working so hard over the last several weeks, you should be really proud of them all. There have been lots and lots of awards given out!

Today the children had a ball with the D.T, Science and P.H.S.E lesson around healthy eating and looking after our bodies. You will notice a little sheet has come home (this is not compulsory) but I thought it would be a nice activity to complete over the half term. Any meals/ food they eat they just write it down, describe it and score it out of 10.

Please ensure reading still takes place, and plenty of practise of number bonds to 10 (this can just be mentally, no written work is necessary).

I hope you all have a fabulous half term, cannot wait to hear what they have all been up to. laugh

Enjoy everyone! heart

15.10.24

We will no longer be setting Phonics portal videos through SeeSaw. We will be loading a new portal onto our School website over the next few weeks where the videos can be watched as often as needed. Mrs Hargreaves will be sending a letter out soon.

Phonics videos can still be accessed on YouTube if your child wants to continue watching them, they will just not be Read Write Inc videos. They know the sounds they have been learning each day yes

Education City issues - I have been made aware of issues with some of the videos 'glitching' and not working or the sound going funny. I have contated Education City about this. Please tell your child not to worry I am trying to sort it for them laugh
