Our Amazing Day With The Halle Orchestra

What can we say? Your children made us all so proud. Everything about the day was perfect. It was the best we had ever heard them play! Their enthusiasm and effort was outstanding, not just when playing their instruments but with their singing, dancing, clapping, finger clicking and "heys."

Well done Y4!

Cullen Cup Winner Spring Term Week 8

Congratulations, Loelagh Magill.

Drama

Rachel, from the Helen O'Grady Drama Academy, introduced the children to improvisation, how to project their voices and acting in groups to show an exciting camping expedition involving different scenarios along the way!

Art Attack

We had our second Art Day and we focused on how different artists use colour. We looked at Claude Monet and how he mixed colour to create his paintings.

Science Week

Science Week was amazing!  What a great chance to take part in so many science experiments set up and hosted by Y6. The Cosmodome came back and we had a visit from the Critters, a real hands on experience!

Walk Like An Egyptian

We hope you enjoyed our class assembly.

Spring Term Week 1

Our visit to the World Museum

On Friday January 8th, we set off to the World Museum in Liverpool. We had a fantastic time learning more about the Ancient Egyptians. The children acted out the mummification process. They really enjoyed pulling the brains out through the nose! We also were able to look at and handle Egyptian artefacts, finding out more about the materials they used. The children learned more about which animals were important to the Egyptians and why. A great day was had by all!

A big thank you to our parent helpers, Mrs Rawling, Mr Shepherd and Mr Joyce and also to Mr Byrne who we have working with us for the next 10 weeks.

Y4 Brass Concert 2nd of December: How impressed we all were with the children's first live performance!

Congratulations to Connor, Leila, Mia, Amelia and Sam for being our first children to win the Bronze Reading Award for home reading. Well done!

Congratulations to our first Spelling Bee champs (Connor, Millie, Loelagh and Liam) who got 100% in every test last half-term!

Inspirations and Aspirations Weeks

We have been celebrating our Inspirations and Aspirations theme for the past two weeks and what a time we have had!  Our weeks began with a very interesting visit from Detective Wolff, who taught us a lot about the job of being a detective and showed us some of the equipment they use.

Our homework project about who inspires us was a huge success, as you can see from the photos below.  The children did a fantastic job, presenting a variety of posters, fact files and powerpoints, which we all thoroughly enjoyed watching and listening to.  Thank you to the parents for your support with this project.

To finish off the fortnight with a bang, the children were invited to dress up as someone who inspires them.  What a selection of dream jobs we had!  Take a look at the photos below to see how your little superstars looked on the day.
