THE MELLING LEARNER PROFILE

Our Melling Learner Profile sets out every characteristic of a learner that we endeavour to ensure our children will demonstrate throughout their learning journey with us here at Melling, and beyond into the rest of their lives.

We have a curriculum designed to develop the qualities identified in our Learner Profile, where each element is reflected across each subject, each year group and through curriculum enrichment and enhancements that take place throughout the year.

A MELLING LEARNER IS:

We shall nurture curiosity, the joy of asking questions and searching for answers. Children will know how to learn independently and with others, to learn with enthusiasm across all subjects – thus laying the foundation for becoming a lifelong learner.

Creative         Imaginative          Questioning

We shall promote thinking in its many forms. Learners shall use critical and creative thinking skills to take responsible action across a range of challenges. Children will explore, predict, make choices, investigate, analyse and conclude in order to solve problems; as well as revel in a world of imagination.
