Homework book - Spellings, 1 maths sheet and 1 English sheet that will go out on a Monday and must be brought in the following Monday.
- Reading minimum x3 per week.
-TTRS , recommended x3 per week for 5-10 minutes at a time(only 2,5,10 multiplication)
Optional
-Hit the Button, as much as possible, (number bonds to 10, number bonds to 100 (tens) and 2,5 and 10 times tables (multiplication only))
- Education City , not compulsory but there if you or your child wants to go on it.

Welcome back to school on this cold and snowy start to the year. From all the staff in Y2, we just want to say thank you for all the presents and collections we received and hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year after such a strong start we have had in Year 2.

Week 14
This week, the children have thoroughly enjoyed (and I am not lying honestly) learning column addition with and without a carry over as a well as column subtraction (no carry over).

Week 8
We discussed that the River of Light Festival is because of a Hindu story called Rama and Sita which we learnt about. We looked at the festival which runs from the Friday we break up for half term until the Monday when we come back to school.
We found out that good will always beat bad and that light will always beat dark.
We made tea light holders (out of clay) and decorated them too.

Week 5
We started off the week revising our place value and recognising in a 2 digit number which number stands for tens and which number stands for ones. We finished our art topic which was warm and cool colours. In Geography. we looked at Kenya as a country and compared it to the UK - recognising the similarities and differences.
Counting by threes is a breeze with this fun song & video! Blast through space as you count all the way from three to sixty!

Week 4
We have started this week learning how to count in 3s.
As well as, counting up in 10s from any given number.
Please ask your child about the science experiment we need in relation to weights and bridges.
This week we have been learning about continents and the equator?
Can your child answer the questions below:
What is a continent?
How many continents are there?
Can they name the continents?
Which continent do we live in?
What is the equator?
Is the equator a real line or imaginary?
Can they name a country on the equator?
A song to help kids learn the 7 continents in order from largest to smallest.
We have also been learning about what an ocean is.
