Book Fair
Sat 25 Jun 2016Thank you to all our parents who visited our book fair this week and a huge thank you to our Junior School Council who organised and manned the event each afternoon. The money raised will be used to replenish our school library.

Healthy Minds, Healthy Bodies Week
Sat 25 Jun 2016This week, Melling launched its 7 steps to feeling good: Exercise, Eat well, Talk it through, Think happy thoughts, Do good for others, Relax your mind, Be resilient. An action-packed programme of events was on offer including samba drumming, dental care, a visit from the NHS and a mindfulness session, as well as starting the day with dancercise/ jogging round our school field. The benefits have been instant: the children have been much more energised and ready for the day ahead as well as being armed with strategies for dealing with strong emotions.

Bi Centenary Celebration of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal
Mon 20 Jun 2016What a fantastic day of fun and celebration at the canal on Sunday! We were delighted with the turn out, helped by the sun! It was lovely to see families out together on a fact-finding mission on the canal itself; watching the fantastic flotilla pass by; enjoying activities led by the scouts and being entertained by the Sparkle and Shine dance group and by our very own Melling Glee choir, led by Jo Hassoun. Thank you for all your support, as always.
