  • Bi-centenary of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal

    Mon 25 Apr 2016 C. Miller
Dawn Beaumont, chair of the Melling Parish Council, led an assembly today to inform the children of the celebrations planned for the bi-centenary of the Leeds-Liverpool Canal. A fun day is planned for Sunday June 19th to hopefully include: family barbecue; performances by our school choir and Sparkle and Shine dance troup;  games led by the local scout group; the opportunity to dress up in period costume and-the highlight-to watch the flotilla of boats sail by in Melling. Phew! Keep the date free! More information to follow shortly.
  • Attendance Reward

    Mon 25 Apr 2016 C. Miller

Congratulations to our spring attendance reward winners, Lewis and Max, who each received a £30 voucher for the Odeon Cinema. The winning names were picked out of the hat by Dawn Beaumont, chair of the Melling Parish Council and Mrs Al-Ramadhan, who was in to see her daughter, Amira,  presented with the Cullen Cup! Happy viewing boys! Remember, your child could be the lucky winner next time if they attend school every day! Thank you for all your support.

  • Netball Success

Sun 24 Apr 2016 Mr. Millington

On Thursday 21st April, the school entered 2 teams into the Maghull Schools netball tournament which was run by Maghull High School. Right from the start of the tournament, our 2 teams played fantastically, showing great ability and teamwork with high quality passing and moving skills. They were so impressive in the way they worked together encouraging each other to do their best. After the group stages, both of our teams had won their groups and qualified for the final ! Mr. Millington was looking for a fence to sit on during the final and would have been very happy with a draw, but there had to be a winner, and Amira's goal resulted in a victory for the Melling yellow team against the Melling red team. Both teams will be presented with their medals next week. An exceptional achievement and we are all really proud of you.Team members : Johnny, Hannah P, Jake, Hannah W, Shaun, Rosa, Allan, Amira, Eva and Rosie
